Anchored Here: White Lotus Divine Healing
Even though you may not know Lynn personally, you have almost certainly been influenced by her energy and commitment to the well being of our City of Port Moody.
Stemming from a long line of entrepreneurs, it was inevitable she would take the entrepreneurial path eventually. Fifty five years ago, Lynn’s father bought a small hardware store and brought Irly Bird Building Supplies to Port Moody, an iconic landmark located at the entrance of the City at Ioco and Barnet Highway, where the Inlet Station stands today. Her father had been working at her grandfather's hardware store in Burnaby since the age of 14 and was ready to start his own business. He managed the operations, which was later passed on to Lynn’s husband who she met back in Port Moody Jr High, while Lynn’s mother ran another family business, the Two Parrots Pub in Coquitlam.
Lynn became further anchored to this area when her figure skating career led to an opportunity to work as a skating instructor for the City of Port Moody. Her passion in really understanding the needs of local sports groups, paired with her strong operational skills quickly led to Lynn developing an impressive arena program. Its overnight success resulted in her coordinating most of the recreational programs for the arena, curling rink, pools and sports fields. The success that came from her 22 year tenure, managing over 100 staff, and building the foundations of Port Moody’s recreation programs unfortunately came at the cost of her own health and well being.
Perhaps a blessing in disguise, the path to self heal led to her next endeavour bringing Port Moody a new wave of well being through her very own holistic healing store, White Lotus Divine Healing. Today, Lynn has reduced her pace but her impact on our community remains strong, as she empowers others to self-heal through her metaphysical boutique, offering energy healing therapies, and an array of events and classes.

How do you contribute to the social development of Port Moody?
We work towards creating a calm and safe place for those in our community who are struggling with anxiety, stress and other emotional and physical challenges. Our intentions for our customers include connection, cultivation of new insights, and ultimately self empowerment. Many of our retail products support local artisans, and others are sourced from local and Canadian suppliers. Our offerings all relate to the natural healing of the body mind and spirit as a whole.
We hope to encourage strong foundational tools that help gain perspective on life experiences, enabling clients to regain self mastery over beliefs that may not serve them any longer. Improving the wellbeing of the physical, emotional and energetic being translates to healthy relationships and ultimately a vibrant community.
What values should we stand for as a community?
It is necessary for all beings on this earth to recognize that we are all one, and work together to bridge the vast polarities that still exist in our world. This can help to further the healing of humanity and Mother Earth.
Describe the most authentic moment you’ve witnessed during your time here.
Working with my clients is always an experience of reciprocal learning and enlightenment. There is magic in those moments, and it is one of the most authentic experiences that I have had in my life to date.
What kind of legacy do you intend on leaving behind?
I feel that the world will continue to shift into a more balanced and loving environment and that our little store has had some small part in this awakening. All sentient beings, be it human, plant or animal, are all connected and when we begin to heal our traumas and fears, we heal our ancestors and the planet with us. I see a brighter future when I meet with the amazing customers who walk through our doors.
What ultimately anchors you here?
My family has lived here for over 55 years, and we operated a family store on the corner of Ioco and Barnet Highway. I loved growing up here and wanted to give back to the city and Port Moody was where I felt White Lotus would be openly received and appreciated. Our community members are dedicated to taking care of their health and have been very supportive since we opened, and throughout the challenges of Covid . We are very grateful.
